PM, FM and Niti Aayog CEO give thumps up to 1st July roll out of GST


Niti Aayog CEO, Amitabh Kant has said GST will help India achieve 9 pc growth rate and will simplify India’s taxation system and help deal with tax evasion.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the preparedness for GST on June 5th and seemed satisfied with the preparedness and the current status especially after the announcement of rates and the rules.

The Finance Minister in his recent interviews on television channels, have ruled out the possibility of any extension beyond 1st July 2017 and sees no reason for any extension.

The GST council has made provisions for control rooms in the initial phase to manage any glitches or hurdles.

The officers panel will go through GST representations and report with recommendations on June 11th when the GST council will meet to discuss all undecided issues. The council will look at any arithmetic mistake.
